denotation= from this image we can clearly see that this camera shot is medium close up because this scene  connation= this image shows us that this man can be seen shocked or could be foreshadowing what could be happening later in the film we can see that this camera shot is an extreme close up because the shot is very close to his face and the camera shot is also above his midline of the actor which backs my point that this camera shot is an extreme close up.

  1) Pick  three  camera  shots  from the Doctor Who scene and explain what type of shot it is and what meanings or effect they have on the audience. this picture of a doctor who scene is a medium shot up and it shows the ladies facial expression and it also shows a bit of the background. in this picture of a doctor who scene is an extreme close up and it doesn't show a lot of the background but also shows us the ladies facial expression like the previous scene finally this last scene of doctor who is an introduction of the setting and shows us the location of the scene 2) Pick  one  camera  angle  that is used in the scene and explain the effect it has on the audience.  in this image we can see that the camera angle is a close up because the camera gets closer to the actor. 3) Pick one aspect of  mise-en-scene  from the scene and explain what connotations are being communicated to the audience.        ...

lighting: from the stranger things trailer we can see that the whole trailer is mostly dark and scary and in the scene in the beginning we can see that he is running while the light is flashing which is for the audience to enjoy since it the genre goes under horror.  costume: the character at the start is wearing a big long white lab coat. that suggest to the audience that the character is a doctor or maybe a scientist which explains why he is wearing a lab coat. setting: in the beginning of the trailer we can see that it was made in a science lab because while the scared man was running and it shows his uniform of his his long white coat.

1) Write an analysis of the  WaterAid advert above  using denotation, connotation and analysis. What can you see? What are the deeper meanings in the advert? What does the advert communicate to the audience? How might an audience react after seeing the advert? denotations: we can see is that there is a young black boy. we can see the companies name and we can see that there is a village behind the young boy. and we can see that there is typography "dig toilets not graves". we can see technical codes such as the mud wall and the village behind him. we can also see that he is carrying something on his back. connotation: we can imply that he lives in a village (technical codes) the typography indirectly tells us that people are dying making us feel empathetic towards them also this displays propaganda this is a symbolic and non verbal code we can also see that he has noticeable frown on his face which leads us to the fact that he might be upset. this is also a technical code. th...
